Part of The Greens Bricks Collection, Golden Citron ceramic brick has been developed through the collaboration between De Ferranti and AAA – Alvaro Afonso Atelier. The collection explores the expressive possibilities of handmade glazed ceramic tiles, where colour variation, subtle crazing and kiln character give each installation warmth and individuality.

The elongated brick format allows Golden Citron ceramic brick to create expressive linear surfaces full of movement and colour. Its glaze carries natural variation, fine crazing and the slight irregularities of handmade production, softening the brightness and giving the tile a more sophisticated, artisanal quality. Rather than feeling flat or synthetic, the colour retains a nuanced depth that changes as light moves across the surface.

Designing with the Golden Citron ceramic brick

Used alone, Golden Citron ceramic brick creates a vivid, sunlit field of colour with a clear linear rhythm. It can be arranged horizontally, vertically or in an offset bond, allowing the same glaze to produce different patterns and proportions across walls, splashbacks and feature areas.

Its yellow-green character works particularly well beside pale stone, warm timber, lime plaster and aged metals. Grout colour and joint width will influence whether the installation reads as a continuous field or a more clearly articulated brick surface. For larger schemes, tiles should be blended from the supplied batch so natural glaze and edge variation is distributed evenly.
