Shagreen Stained Briquette is made from shagreen (stingray) stained to an colourway that enhances the natural pearled texture. The surface reads matte-satin, with a soft, light-catching shimmer that moves across the raised beads rather than reflecting sharply.
Presented in a briquette format, the shagreen is assembled into small brick-like units to create a structured, architectural rhythm. The layout gives the piece a tailored, modern feel, while the organic variation in the grain keeps it alive and natural. Up close, you can see the tight constellation of beads, with subtle tonal shifts between golden tan, warm toffee, and deeper toasted notes.
Supplied as pre-assembled panels on a stable substrate for clean alignment and easier installation, this finish is ideal for furniture and vertical applications where touch, warmth, and surface detail are meant to hold attention.
Recommended Uses
Wall panels and feature cladding, cabinet doors, drawer fronts, bar fronts, headboards, furniture accents, decorative inlays, and in select constructions and protective finishes, low-traffic internal flooring.
Shagreen use was pioneered by Jean-Michel Frank for interiors, architectural finishes and furniture.
