The Azure Tide handmade ceramic tile has a vibrant coastal-blue glaze inspired by Mediterranean waters, Atlantic horizons and the shifting colours of shallow seas under changing light. Fresh, luminous and full of movement, it captures the relaxed elegance of handcrafted ceramic surfaces.
Part of The Blues Collection from the collaboration between De Ferranti and AAA – Alvaro Afonso Atelier, Azure Tide MC52 introduces a brighter and more energetic blue to the palette. Its colour moves effortlessly between turquoise, aqua and soft marine blue, creating a surface that feels both uplifting and timeless.
The handmade nature of the tile allows the glaze to develop subtle variations across each piece. Gentle shifts in tone, soft pooling around edges and the natural irregularities of handcrafted production create a surface rich in character and visual depth.
These variations ensure that every installation feels unique, with a natural rhythm that cannot be replicated by industrial manufacturing.
The Azure Tide handmade ceramic tile should be assessed through physical samples in the lighting and material context of the proposed room. Its marine colour is particularly effective beside pale stone, warm timber, lime-based finishes and restrained metal details. Small differences in glaze depth, surface movement and edge profile belong to the handmade character and should be distributed deliberately across the finished area.
Additional tones within the Blues family include Imperial Navy, Midnight Delft, Mistwashed Sky and Skywash Blue.
The Azure Tide handmade ceramic tile can also be combined with the above tones on a single surface, bringing texture and tonal variation, as shown in our curated Blues Mix collection.
For larger schemes, review a representative batch mock-up and agree the grout joint from the actual dimensional variation of the supplied tiles rather than from a rectified-tile convention. Where the tile is proposed for showers, pool rooms or other wet settings, the substrate, waterproofing, adhesive and grout system must be specified as a complete assembly. Floor, exterior and submerged applications require written project-specific confirmation.
