This framed terracotta relief tile is defined by a strong outer border enclosing a dynamic diagonal composition. Repeating triangular bands anchor the perimeter, while a softly contoured inner frame holds intersecting planes, scored diamonds and raised textured strips.

The diagonal relief creates momentum across the surface, contrasted by carefully incised linear detailing. Stippled elements add tactile variation, allowing shadow to deepen the geometry and bring the design into sharper focus.

Each line and texture is cut by hand into raw clay using traditional tools before firing. The result feels structured yet unmistakably human, with minor variations that prevent the pattern from becoming mechanical.

Fired in accordance with the Tierra Negra process, the tile develops its characteristic black satin finish. Undertones of bronze, charcoal and deep umber appear in changing light, strengthening the sculptural quality of the relief. The piece translates a long pottery tradition into a bold interior surface.

Dry-lay the required number of tiles to assess tonal variation and to align the repeated frames. Directional lighting will make stippled and recessed marks more pronounced. Joint width and grout colour should be selected from samples, with substrate, fixing and sealing decisions confirmed for the intended interior wall.
